Nuclear Toilet Paper

So yesterday Internet Explorer stopped working quite suddenly. This wouldn't be SO bad except that a lot of Windows is built off of IE, like their folding browsing system. So while the computer "worked" completely otherwise (no freezes and third-party software worked fine), my computer was essentially locked to me since I couldn't get to my files directly. Arrrgh.

So I reinstalled Windows XP, drivers and everything (after spending a day looking for them). I have five days left on the warranty for my computer. Coincidence? Either way, it would cost me $240 to renew it for another two years (my only option). I could pay $99 for the joy of being able to call HP's tech support for "free", but any repairs for which they'd do I would have to foot the bill. Icky.

First my health, then my car, now my computer. When will it end?
